Hello World!

Hi there everyone! My name is Anna Applegate and I am a writer. Gosh it feels good to say that!! I am so excited for this summer. I will be releasing my first book in the Ariya Adams trilogy, Protected. Actually, it’s my first novel period. It will be out on Kindle and Nook. I can’t believe that it was last September I started this crazy adventure.

I love reading. It is one of my favorite things to do. So many times though I find myself wishing for a different ending or for another scene to take place. It was around last September that I was talking to one of my girlfriends telling her this before going off on a tangent about needing a new hobby. She put the two together and said, “Why don’t you try writing?”

At first I thought, you must be joking (I may have even said that to her). Me? Writing? I am the reader, NOT the writer. Then I started thinking about it more. I finally came to the decision of why not at least try.

I sat down at my computer intending to get about 10 words out before thinking I was crazy. As I typed though, the words kept coming. Scenes played out in my mind like I was watching a movie. My fingers flew across the keyboard and suddenly instead of 10 words I had 10,000 words. Woah. Around 50,000 I thought to myself, I can do this. I kept going with it and I’ve been working on this trilogy ever since.

In the time leading up to the release I will post teasers, ask questions, and try to get to know those of you more who are interested. I’d love to connect with you and talk about reading, writing, or anything else you’d like to discuss. I love meeting new people. That is one blessing I am already getting to take away from this experience. I have met some fantastic people who I never would have been able to meet without taking a leap of faith into my book.
